Light
The purpose of this project was to create three chapel designs that could potentially be built in Farmingdale State College. We took in consideration where the light of day would hit the building and how could we create a design that would be able to control how much lighting goes inside.
Background Research
Riola Parish Church
Riola Parish Church, an architectural gem crafted by the visionary Alvar Aalto, its located in Riola. The church's strategic placement of windows allows sunlight to dance gracefully within its interior, illuminating the space with a celestial glow.

Site Selection
The location of the site was chosen by considering how active the area is. In this case, the site would be in the center of campus between the Campus Center building and the dorm buildings, which are buildings people go to all the time. What I also considered was the distance between the site and the actual street because since it's a sacred place, people wouldn't want to hear cars passing all the time and distracting them.
