Contextual Fit
The main purpose of this project is to learn how to apply an addition to something that already exists. In this case, we used the well known Smith's house, built it 1965 by architect Richard Meier. The objective is to add new spaces to the house without making it seem it was part of the house since the beginning.
In this house will be living a family of 5. The dad is an architect and the mom is an interior designer so they want to make their new house even better. They are a very united family and like to spend most of the weekends at the beach watching the sunset. The sun represents all the moments they spend together at the beach creating more memories. The room they want to make a priority is the family room because after a long week, they enjoy having movie nights together while eating their favorite snacks. They also like to invite family over to play some board games and just have a good time together.
